Prairie Farms Luana Cheese Plant
Nestled in the hills and valleys of northeastern Iowa, Luana is the largest of the Prairie Farms cheese manufacturing facilities. Luana was acquired in 1967 and has been growing and expanding ever since. The plant has undergone a series of expansion renovations over the years. Some of its more notable expansions include the installation of new silos in 2010 and its $20 million investment announced in 2014 that upgraded much of its equipment, increased its production capacity, and expanded its cheesemaking capabilities. Shullsburg Creamery takes pride in its hometown roots, and its newest General Manager is no stranger to tradition. In fact, the small town of Shullsburg has been the backdrop for a significant portion of Gabe Wand’s life and career, and he’s looking forward to making big things happen here in his new role.
